I’ve never bought a car in my life. All of the cars I’ve ever owned have been given to me. Here’s the rundown:
83 Honda Accord
89 Honda Accord (or was it 87?)
91 Acura Legend
94 Isuzu Pickup
These have all been graciously given to me when somebody else in my family was finished with them (or they saw that I needed one).
Well, not anymore. Erin and I are now the proud owners of a 1999 Honda CR-V. It has 40,000 miles on it and has a manual transmission. Consumer Reports complained that the pedals are too close to the driver seat. This, of course, means that for the first time in her life Erin is able to easily drive a standard. She’s doing a really good job, too.
Sid loves it because he can actually look out of the windows and see more than sky. As we drive down the road he is constantly looking around and commenting on what he sees.
Wow Dave... a Honda.. way to branch out there, buddy.
All ribbing aside, this is really good pick. My aunt drives one and it's pretty comfy inside if you're not to big (like myself) so I'm sure you and Erin both have plenty of room. It also looks like a hoss of a machine. Does it have a lot of get up and go? Maybe we'll all pile into the Rutledge-mobile for A-Kon 16? ROADTRIP!!!!

Since it's to the Japanese convention that should be "RODO-TURIPPUUU!!!"
I dunno. We like it, but your Xterra seems a bit beefier (even if they did give in to the whole "start words with X" craze). Of course, the CR-V does get crazy gas mileage for an SUV (24 MPG) and has the reliability of a...well...a Honda. :)
